"The key to success is to use good judgment and common sense." Well I exercised my common sense and decided that no one would want shoe leather and Sanka for dinner.

Is "The Governor's Steak" code for some Nancy R. notable talent?

Of course Ronnie Ray-Gun would like his steak well done. Have you ever met a Republican who had any sense of taste?

I think RR matured as an actor in his role as governor and achieved his greatest performance as president. But RR was an airhead, vapid, indifferent, uncaring; a small man under brilliant management. A crackerjack team of assholes with skills like Mike Deaver and RR's most trusted advisor, his wife Nancy protected his performance. It was magic, a very black magic. But political gold for a decadent GOP because we are magical thinkers and that makes us easy prey. The GOP embraced lies and illusions with fresh enthusiasm.

I wonder if he managed his movie performances like that? Like, gave the director, lighting guy, makeup person and others such explicit directions?

He didn't - he just followed orders when he was in Hollywood, and gave wooden performances.
